Salad Share 2026

This season we are launching something we have wanted to do for a long time: a weekly salad share grown on site at Wolves Lane Centre and made available to the community right around us in North London.

Our salad share is a community supported agriculture (CSA) project. CSAs embrace seasonality, connection to growing spaces and build strong networks for agroecological farming to thrive. After spending a few seasons supplying primarily to the wholesale market, our team of growers felt that finding a way to make our produce more accessible to the community immediately surrounding Wolves Lane Centre aligned more closely to our ethos as a site. We aim to create an affordable source of fresh, nutrient dense produce grown right here in North London.

Because of our glasshouses we are able to grow fantastic tomatoes, cucumbers, mixed salads and leafy greens. We also have outdoor beds where long season brassicas, squash, alliums, root crops, cut flowers, and herbs can grow. For our first season we want to focus on what we excel at. Therefore our salad share is not the same as a veg box: we won’t promise onions, carrots, and potatoes year round, we can promise a diverse array of vegetables which grow well on our site, always at the peak of their season.

What is in the bag

Each week the share contains a minimum of four different crops, always including a 100g bag of our mixed salad. The mix changes through the season and might include agretti, basil, endive, lettuce, mizuna, mustard greens, purslane, rainbow chard, rocket, shiso, spinach or tatsoi.

Beyond the salad mix, what arrives in your bag follows the season:

  • Spring: rhubarb, radishes, lettuce heads, spring garlic

  • Summer: tomatoes, cucumbers, french beans, bunches of herbs

  • Late summer into autumn: chillies, tomatillos, larger brassicas and leafy greens, heirloom winter squash

We grow nearly 20 varieties of tomato, 5 types of cucumber and at least 15 different herbs, so there will be plenty of surprises through the season.

The practical bits

You can sign up or cancel anytime between May and October, though we would love to have you for the whole season. Much of the produce will also turn up in the Wolves Lane shop, but some crops will only appear in the salad shares because we simply do not grow them in large enough quantities to supply both.

Collection times are:

  • Thursdays, 15:00 to 17:00

  • Fridays, 10:00 to 15:00

  • Sundays, 10:00 to 15:00

Please bring a reusable bag when you collect, so we can reuse the paper packaging where possible.

Come and see the site

If you are not sure whether the salad share is for you, the best thing is to come down and have a look. Walk the beds, see the glasshouses, talk to the growers. Once you have seen where the food is coming from, the rest of the case for it tends to make itself.
