Trainee Food Growers
Are you part of the next generation of food growers? Looking to develop your skills in sustainable horticulture and be part of a community led organisation working to build positive change within the food system? We are delighted to recruit two seasonal trainees between 18-25y/o for a 9 months training programme - from the start of March 2026. This is an exciting position perfect for emerging growers looking for hands-on experience, to join our production team for the coming growing season.
This is a community driven, small-scale market garden site rooted in agroecological principles. Following the lead of our growers, the apprentice positions include raising thousands of plants from seed, vertical glasshouse cropping, propagation, organic pest control and chemical free growing practices.
We particularly welcome applications from people currently underrepresented in the horticulture/farming sector such as people with disabilities, neurodivergence, people of colour, and people from LGBTQIA+ communities.
HOW TO APPLY
Please read the role description and person specification and let us know how you think your skills and experience makes this traineeship right for you. Attach a CV including your work/growing history, as well as either a cover letter or a video explaining why you would like to work here and what makes you right for this role. We welcome applications even if you feel you don’t fulfil every element of the person specification. Please send your application and/or any questions regarding the application process to jobs@wolveslane.org, with Apprentice Grower and (your name) in the email title.
